Steve Feilmeier was named the recipient of the 2023 Fairmount Foundersβ Award at the annual Fairmount Society dinner held on May 4 at Mark Arts. The ΊΓΙ«ΟΘΙϊ Foundation and Alumni Engagement gives the award annually to recognize individuals who provide outstanding service and generosity to ΊΓΙ«ΟΘΙϊ.
Feilmeier believes the universityβs partnership with businesses, both on and off campus, has created great benefits to both students and employers in the Wichita area.
βThe university is such an important part of our community and the business community here,β he said. βItβs critical to helping the city and southcentral Kansas flourish.β
Since graduating with his Master of Accountancy degree in 1985, Feilmeier has remained highly engaged with the university. He is currently a member of the National Advisory Council for the ΊΓΙ«ΟΘΙϊ Foundation and Alumni Engagement, along with the Barton School Deanβs Advisory Board. His strategic contributions in these roles have helped advance the university in many ways, and his dedication to student success is reflected year after year in his continued support.
βSteve is an asset in so many ways for Wichita State and for our organization. Heβs strategic, heβs passionate, heβs hard working β and heβs always a phone call away,β said Elizabeth King, president and CEO of the ΊΓΙ«ΟΘΙϊ Foundation and Alumni Engagement. βThis award is our way of saying thank you for his decades of commitment to the university, and he is more than deserving. Weβre so grateful for his lifetime of service to ΊΓΙ«ΟΘΙϊ.β
Steve and his wife, Regine, have contributed significantly to the success of many campaigns at Wichita State, supporting the construction of Woolsey Hall and the Charles Koch Arena expansion and renovation, and they have been dedicated supporters of the menβs basketball and menβs and womenβs tennis teams.
In 1997, Feilmeier began his career with Koch companies as a controller for Koch Chemical Group. Working across various Koch companies through the years, he is currently the CEO of Koch Investments Group.
